Akibat kebodohan mereka membiarkan Khilafah Utsmaniyyah dilumpuhkan setelah pelucutan jabatan khilafahnya 10 tahun yang lalu. Dia digulingkan pada tahun 1909 oleh kelompok yang dikenal sebagai Turki Muda. Pelantikan Sultan Abdul Hamid dalam Dinasti OttomanKhilafah islam yang terakhir.

Dia menjadi khalifah Turki Usmani. Selama berabad-abad kerajaan Islam tersebut berjaya memantapkan pengaruhnya di Eropah Timur Balkan dan Mediterranean. Pada malam ituSultan Abdul Majid II Khalifah terakhir kaum Muslimin dipaksa untuk mengemas barangannya dan dibekalkan dengan sedikit wang laludihalau keluar dari Turki dengan kendaraan yang telah disediakan khas.

Pemergiannya diratapi seluruh penduduk Istanbul kerana mereka sudah sedar. Sautun Nahdhah kali ini ingin mengungkap sekelumit. Walaupun baginda bukan Sultan bagi kerajaan Islam yang terakhir namun baginda dianggap Khalifah terakhir kerana Khalifah yang dilantik selepas pemecatan beliau tidak lain hanyalah boneka dan tidak mempunyai kuasa.

Sultan Abdul Hamid adalah Sultan ke-34 dan merupakan Sultan terakhir di kesultanan Utsmani. İkinci Abdülhamit 2122 September 1842 10 Februari 1918 adalah sultan ke-34 bagi Empayar Uthmaniyyah. Dia adalah putra Abdul Majid dari istri kedua.

Sebab setelahnya tak ada lagi sultan yang disegani. Abdul Hamid II adalah sultan terakhir Ottoman yang punya kekuasaan nyata. Beliau adalah anak kedua kepada Sultan Abdul Majeed I daripada isteri keduanya.

Sultan Hamid II menguasai bahasa Turki Arab dan Persia. Setelah kematian ibundanya baginda kemudian menjadi anak angkat isteri. Abdul Hamid II dilahirkan pada 21 September 1842 di Istana Çırağan Ortaköy atau di Istana Topkapı keduanya di IstanbulBaginda adalah putera Sultan Abdulmejid I dan Tirimüjgan Kadın Circassia 16 Ogos 1819 - Constantinople Istana Feriye 2 November 1853 yang awalnya bernama Virjinia.

Namun begitu selepas berabad-abad pengaruh itu beransur pudar. Di masa-masa akhir kejayaannya Daulah Utsmaniyah dipimpin oleh seorang Khalifah yang terkenal cerdik lemah-lembut tegas dan sangat pencemburu terhadap. Disamping juga ia dikenal senang membaca dan bersyair.

Nama lengkapnya adalah Abdul Hamid bin Abdul Majid bin Mahmud bin Abdul Hamid bin Ahmad. Setelah penggulingan saudaranya Mehmed Reshad terpilih. Ia juga dikenal senang.
