هشام بن عبد الملك adalah khalifah yang berkuasa sejak tahun 724 sampai 743. Kebijakan pertama yang ia lakukan adalah mengurangi jumlah bantuan sosial dan mengembalikannya pada anggaran biasa seperti pada masa Khalifah Hisyam bin Abdul Malik. Ia merupakan raja yang paling terkenal dalam bidang ilmu pengetahuan.

Di masa Abdul Malik bin Marwan 65-86 H684-705 M. 211 Latar Belakang Hisyam bin Abdul Malik. Hisyam bin Abdul Malik merupakan anak ke empat dari Khalifah Bani Umayyah ke-5 yakni Abdul Malik bin Marwan.

Hisyam digantikan oleh keponakannya al-Walid bin Yazid bin Abdul Malik 709-744 yang dikenal dengan julukan al-Walid II untuk membedakannya dengan Khalifah al-Walid bin Abdul Malik 668-715. Yazid merupakan satu-satunya khalifah yang berasal dari Bani Umayyah dari pihak ayah dan ibu. Dinasti ini mampou meneruskan tradisi kemajuan peradaban yang sebelumnya telaah dibangun oleh khulafaurrasyidin.

Abdul Malik lahir pada Ramadhan tahun 646 Masehi di kediaman ayahnya Marwan bin Hakam di Madinah pada masa kekuasaan Khalifah Utsman bin Affan. Hisyam mewarisi kekhalifahan dari saudaranya Yazid II dengan menghadapi banyak permasalahan. Hisyam bin Abdul-Malik 691 743.
